Schalmont Central School District

The Schalmont Central School District spans across five towns and three counties to serve approximately 1,900 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district is home to three school buildings—Jefferson Elementary School, Schalmont Middle School and Schalmont High School. Of the Class of 2015, 87 percent went on to a two- or four-year college or university, 5 percent went on to employment, 1 percent went on to the military, and 4 percent moved on to trade school/adult programs. Students are led by a talented and experienced management team as well as a cadre of highly involved instructional staff.

Mohonasen Central School District

Mohonasen’s students consistently achieve high marks on state exams, and are among the top-performing schools in the region. Their instructional staff consists of roughly 250 professionals, who are supported by six academic administrators and eight principals and assistant principals. Mohonasen students are also actively involved in many music and theater performance groups, including the Mohon Masque Theatre Group, which has a reputation for outstanding performances and plays to packed houses year after year. Additionally, roughly 40 percent of all students are involved in at least one interscholastic sport. The district’s attendance rate averages 96 percent a year.
